Timber species and looks

• European oak in natural, smoked, limed and whitewashed tones, perfect for coastal homes
• Native Australian timbers such as Spotted Gum, Blackbutt and Jarrah, with their distinctive knots and grain
• Wide boards, narrow boards, herringbone and chevron patterns
• Matt, satin and gloss finishes

Timber is recommended for living areas, dining rooms, kitchens, hallways and bedrooms. We don't recommend natural timber for wet areas such as bathrooms and laundries, where moisture can damage it; our hybrid and vinyl ranges give you a timber look that is fully waterproof.

Engineered timber flooring

Engineered boards have a layer of real hardwood over a stable plywood or timber core, finished with protective coatings. You get the look and feel of solid timber with better stability in changing temperatures, and most ranges can be glued directly to the subfloor or laid as a floating floor. Ideal for high-traffic areas.

Floating timber flooring

Floating floors are engineered planks or tiles that click together and sit on an underlay rather than being fixed to the subfloor, which makes installation faster and generally more affordable. Quality varies with the thickness of the wear layer and the base, so ask our staff to compare ranges with you.

Herringbone and chevron floors

Laid in a zigzag pattern, herringbone and chevron floors add a timeless, tailored look to a hallway, living room or whole house. Originally made from solid timber blocks, both patterns are now available in engineered timber, laminate and hybrid ranges.
